my life lately
well Porthouse is facking AMAZING! I really like working here! Everyone is really legit and its professional. For the first week we did all the big dance numbers! At first I was a little let down because in Damn Yankees there is this trio pass that I had my eyes on from the first youtube video of “Shoeless Joe” I ever watched, and unfortunately I didn’t book it because I am too TALL and didn’t look right with the other guys?! I never really thought I was a dancer but working on this show has really boosted that confidence. And even though I didn’t get that pass, I do get to do a back handspring… of course, and I am in the specialty dance number “Who’s got the Pain?”
On another note the show itself is going to be really good! I have never worked with this many older, equity actors and its really exciting. Instead of having a 24 year old play a 60 year old woman, we have the 60 year old! I really love it.
I love all the other younger actors around my age as well. I live with Nathan, who just graduated with a theatre degree, Jack who attends Millikin for musical theatre, and “Papa” Parke who is an older guy going into his graduate. We call him “Papa” because he is legit our dad! He bought me creamer for my coffee… he’s just a very generous guy!
Ooo also our costumes are being like made and bought. Like im not wearing any old, pulled shit. I GET MY OWN COSTUMES! I love it! It’s like Dear Edwina, love getting that new shit. The costume for “Who’s got the Pain,” is handmade and BEAUTIFUL! They made the shirt, like from scratch. I will post pictures because it’s so cute.
OH! Last thing… maybe, we got baseball cards made for our characters and they are legit the cutest things in the land!
As you can tell, if you even read any of this, I am enjoying myself in Ohio so far and stay tuned for more drama!
